Why Trivox Network Beats Budget Hosting Uplinks

"Unmetered 1 Gbps" on a 4 euro VPS is not a network. It is a shared port until the host's single transit congests or filters you. Trivox sells servers and transit from a mix you can name: several independent uplinks plus INTER-IX and ERA-IX in Amsterdam.

If latency to Europe, prefix reachability and failover matter, that mix is why you should use Trivox instead of a budget farm. If you only download ISOs, it will not matter and you should buy cheap.

What budget uplinks usually are

• One transit provider, maybe a second that is the same company under another brand.
• No public IX, or IX that is not in the city your VM claims.
• No looking glass, no PeeringDB you can trust, no way to see a withdraw.
• DDoS "included" that is a null-route after the first complaint.

That is fine for a blog. It is not fine for customer BGP, game authenticators, or anything that must stay in table when one carrier has a bad day.

Transit diversity (including Cogent and regional paths), two Amsterdam exchanges, a looking glass, peering policy and PeeringDB. The partner list is on /company/partners. If you need a port and a session of your own, that is IP transit, not a hidden checkbox on a VPS.

When to buy transit vs a VPS

Buy a VPS or dedicated box if you need compute and a Trivox-assigned address. Buy IP transit if you have your own ASN and prefixes and want the Amsterdam edge. Mixing them in the same halls is the point of the footprint. Number resources, if you need a sponsor, go through RIPE LIR.

If you cannot name the transits and the IXPs, you do not have a network. You have a port.
